WELCOME NOTE:
Our world is increasingly interconnected and interdependent. The last decade has seen the emergence of interdisciplinary studies that significantly impact the life sciences field. The accelerated development of computing power, automation and artificial intelligence is fueling a new wave of innovation, and boosting the advance in life sciences. In the meantime, there is an urgency to gather top scholars across different disciplines around the world to guide the new way of exploring the next generation life sciences.
As a point of promoting convergence between multi-disciplinary research and studies, Shanghai Institute for Advanced Study of Zhejiang University (SIAS) welcomes you to the 4th World Laureates Forum! A panel discussion that features Nobel Laureates, Turing Award winners, Fields Medalists, and Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is hosted in partnering with World Laureates Association (WLA) to deliver premier content to the international community of academics. The panel will address the following issues such as:
· The optimized way of promoting an authentic disciplinary integration with an effective quantitative research model
· How convergence of cross-disciplinary studies provides a blueprint for addressing the new era’s healthcare challenges?
· How will building quantitative models in experimental biology lead discoveries of counterintuitive phenomena and open up novel research directions?
We are honored to welcome five renowned keynote speakers this year, and a roundtable discussion will be followed afterwards with an additional three panelists. Dr. Ruhong Zhou, Dean of SIAS, will be the moderator for the session. Together, the group of scientists will share their thoughts on the previous keynote speeches and their respective research areas.
