Dr Peng graduated from University of East Anglia in 1993 and became a professor in College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University from 2008. He is currently the Dean of College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University and an Adjunct Professor of Shanghai Institute for Advanced Study of ZhejiangUniversity (SIAS).

His research interests include：

• Using Arabidopsis thaliana as a model organism to study the function of gibberellin signaling and DELLA gene

• Using zebra fish as a model organism to study the molecular mechanism of early liver development and regeneration after adult liver resection.
