Dr Jiwei Li is now at Shannon AI. He also holds a faculty position at Zhejiang University, China, and is an Adjunct Professor of Shanghai Institute for Advanced Study of Zhejiang University (SIAS).

He holds a Ph.D. degree from the Computer Science Department at Stanford University, and is a recipient of the 2020 Global MIT TR35 innovator award.

He worked with Prof. Dan Jurafsky at Stanford and Eduard Hovy at CMU. He also worked with Jason Weston, Sumit Chopra, Alex Miller and Marc'aurelio Ranzato from Facebook AI Research, and Michel Galley, Jianfeng Gao, Chris Brockett and Bill Dolan from the NLP group at Microsoft Research.

Dr Li’s research interests include: deep learning, natural language processing, machine learning and bioinformatics.
