World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2023, jointly hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Cyberspace Administration of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Shanghai Municipal People's Government, is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from 6th to 8th July.
On 7th July, Centre of Computational Biology, Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, together with Multiscale Research Institute for Complex Systems, Fudan University, and Shanghai Institute for Advanced Study, Zhejiang University, will host WAIC 2023 Forum AI for Science: Computational Biology.
Forum information:
Time: 7th Jul 2023, 09:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Beijing Time)
Venue: Room 517, Shanghai World Expo Center, Shanghai, China
Moderators: Jianpeng Ma, Fudan University; Ruhong Zhou, Zhejiang University
Topic: Artificial intelligence (AI) proves to have enormous potential in many areas of healthcare including research and chemical drug discoveries. Using large amounts of aggregated data, the AI can discover and learn further transforming these data into usable knowledge. Being well aware of this, the world's leading researchers and pharmaceutical companies have already begun to exploit modern computational biology and machine learning systems to predict the molecular behavior and the likelihood of getting a useful drug, thus saving time and money on unnecessary tests. Clinical studies, electronic medical records, high-resolution medical images, and genomic profiles can be used as resources to aid drug development, and extensive data sets that can be analyzed by strong AI systems. This Forum focuses on how computational biology theories and AI technologies can help drug discovery, emphasizing both basic research and industrial applications.
